The Victoria Rebels will welcome Victoria’s own Dave Cutler as their honoured guest Saturday when the Rebels take on the South Surrey Big Kahuna Rams at Bear Mountain Stadium at City Centre Park in Langford.
Dave Cutler retired from the CFL in 1984 after 16 outstanding seasons with the Edmonton Eskimos. At the time of his retirement, Dave held virtually every professional football kicking record surpassing the great George Blanda.
The numbers speak for themselves: 464 field goals, 627 converts, 218 singles for 2,237 points. Dave won six Grey Cups over his illustrious career, was a three-time Western All Star, two-time All Canadian and was inducted into the Canadian Football Hall of Fame in 1998. Dave’s name also hangs proudly on the Edmonton Eskimo Wall of Honour.
In celebration of Dave’s accomplishments, the Victoria Rebels and Lighthouse Brewing Company are proud to sponsor the “Outkick Cutler” contest.
At half time, two lucky contestants are chosen to try and beat Dave’s career long field goal of 59 yards for a chance to win an exciting prize pack that includes a year of beer and a custom Victoria Rebels/Lighthouse fridge.
Kickoff is at 4 p.m.
