The Vancouver Island Impact got off to a slow start and the Vancouver Fusion capitalized scoring two goals in the first period in tournament action between the six teams of the BC Hockey Female Midget AAA League last weekend in 100 Mile House.

The Impact fought back, but it was too little too late, Vancouver took the game 5-2.

The Fraser Valley Phantom took on the Impact in the first game on the second day of play.

The Phantom exploded for three unanswered goals in the first period; all goals were scored by a different player.

Unfazed the Impact fought back over the next 40 minutes and the game ended in a 3-3 tie.

Alicia Archer had a great game for the Impact scoring the second goal for her team.

The third game of the day pitted the Thompson-Okanagan Rockets against the Vancouver Island Impact.

The Rocket’s Jordan Krause had an outstanding game finishing with one goal and one assist while making good decisions under pressure.  The Rockets built a 7-0 lead after the first period and went on to win the game 9-2.

The next weekend of Female Midget AAA League play will be Dec. 11-13, 2009 in Pitt Meadows and Langley.
