ANAKA UNDEFEATED IN NCWA WRESTLING DUALS

Stacie Anaka of Victoria was undefeated as the Simon Fraser University Clan women’s wrestling team finished second this past weekend at the National Collegiate Wrestling Association National Duals, held in Waterloo, Iowa.

In front of over 16 thousand fans, the Clan defeated Missouri Valley, Lindenwood and Jamestown, however fell to Oklahoma City in the finals 26-17.

Anaka, Danielle Lappage, Victoria Anthony and Taylor Dick all went undefeated over the weekend, while teammates Hillary Greening and Tessa Ma finished the weekend 3-1 respectively.

“We are getting better each time out, which is good to see,” said SFU head coach Mike Jones following the weekend. “We have met OCU four times this year, we won the first and lost the last three, but we are seeing improvements and we want to continue that improvement as the season progresses.”

Anaka is currently ranked second by the Women’s College Wrestling Association in the 67 KG/147.5 LB Class
